Terms of use

1. The service

Snekcade (snekcade.com and its apps) is a game for learning the Python programming language, run by Zoran Ruvidić, Belgrade, Serbia. By using it you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts

You can play without an account. If you create one, keep access to your email secure, because it is how you sign in. One person per account.

3. Snek Pass

• Snek Pass is an optional subscription (monthly or yearly) that unlocks paid worlds and unlimited hearts. Prices are shown before you pay.
• Our reseller Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record. Your purchase contract for the payment is with them, under their terms.
• The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. The renewal date is shown at checkout and in your receipt.
• Cancel any time from Profile → Manage subscription, or through the link in your receipt. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
• Refunds: see the refund policy.
• Gems, hearts and trophies are in-game rewards. They have no money value and cannot be bought, sold or exchanged.

In the Android app from Google Play, Snek Pass is sold and billed by Google Play under Google's terms; you manage or cancel it in the Play Store, and refunds follow Google Play's refund policy.

4. Fair use

Do not attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service, use it to break the law, or try to unlock paid content without paying. We may suspend accounts that do.

4a. Monthly league

Signed-in players who pick a league name appear on a public monthly table with that name and their XP for the month. Your email is never shown. Each month runs on UTC time and resets on the 1st.

Prize: the player in first place when the month ends gets 30 days of Snek Pass for free, added automatically within three days. Ties go to the player who reached the score first. The prize has no cash value and cannot be exchanged. If the winner already pays for Snek Pass, they can instead ask us (contact link below) to refund one month of their subscription.

XP from a single day is capped, and XP must come from playing. We may remove scores, names or prizes that come from cheating, automation or several accounts, and rename offensive league names. No purchase is needed to take part, and paying does not give extra league XP.

5. Content

Lessons, artwork, music and code of Snekcade belong to us. The Python you write is yours.

6. No guarantees

We work hard to keep Snekcade correct and online, but it is provided "as is". We cannot guarantee it will always be available or free of errors, or that it will get you a job.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Snek Pass in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

8. Changes and law

We may update these terms and will show the new date above; important changes are announced in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without limiting mandatory consumer rights in your country.
